About Apple A Day
Hope Stuart has been in education most of her life. She followed in her mom’s teaching footsteps and never looked back! She received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education from Russell Sage College and her Masters in Reading from Sage Graduate School. Her first teaching experience was located within a nursery school setting in the Bronx where she taught 2 and 3 year olds for a year. During this experience, Hope consulted a graduate class in early childhood reading experiences.
Hope’s introduction to the public schools began in 1996 where she taught half-day Kindergarten for 4 years and First Grade for 2 years. During her tenure in the Washingtonville Central School District, Hope coached other teachers in technology programs such as Microsoft Publisher. She was instrumental in developing a thematic-based program, which integrated themes across the subject areas. Throughout her teaching career, Hope incorporated the most current management and organizational strategies within her classroom. She consistently collaborated with colleagues and district personnel to ensure she met the learning and management needs of her students.
When Hope received her Certificate of Advanced Study in Administration, she immediately embarked on a career as a school administrator. During her 9 years in administration, Hope made it her priority to provide teachers with high quality management strategies and techniques to meet the instructional needs of their learners. She has designed and implemented workshops and conference days related to management and organization. Furthermore, she has collaborated with an array of teachers regarding the design and set-up of their classrooms.
While researching classroom management and organization, Hope was inspired to write a book regarding this subject. This book takes new and veteran teachers through the steps of setting up a room; establishing routines, designing centers, and so much more. Hope’s book is available on the Teachers Pay Teachers website for purchase as a whole entity or by chapter to meet each teacher’s current instructional needs. Since writing this book, Hope has been inspired to write an array of children’s books with corresponding instructional activities that are packaged as book packets. She has designed ten behavior management systems based around monthly themes that are also available on her Teachers Pay Teachers store at: www.teacherspayteachers.com/Store/Apple-A-Day .
